Brewing the Perfect Cup with a Vietnamese Phin Filter

Phin Filter - Experience the traditional Vietnamese method of brewing coffee using the Phin filter, ideal for savoring the rich flavors.

 

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of UPON 91 Coffee (medium-coarse grind)​
2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk​
Hot water (just off the boil)​
Ice cubes (for iced coffee)​

 


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glass: Add sweetened condensed milk to your glass
  2. Set Up the Phin Filter: Place the Phin filter over the glass and add UPON 91 Coffee to the filter. Drop the gravity press on top of the coffee.
  3. Bloom the Coffee: Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds to let them bloom for 30 seconds.​
  4. Brew: Fill the filter with hot water and cover it (about 1 inch of water above the press). Allow the coffee to drip slowly (about 5 minutes).
  5. Stir and Serve: Once brewed, stir the coffee and condensed milk together. Add ice if desired.
